OUR REGION | OUR GIVING
Housing
Closing regional equity gaps would empower over 154,000 Black and Hispanic households to achieve homeownership, building generational wealth and community stability across the DMV.
Expanding Affordable Housing Supply
The region faces a critical shortage of affordable rental options. Between 2008 and 2022, the DMV lost nearly 40,000 units renting for under $1,800, while adding 50,000 units priced above $2,800. To ensure regional competitiveness, we must prioritize the production of middle-income and affordable housing to protect residents from displacement and financial strain.
